Please don’t cry when I die,
I’ve sheded tears all my life,
So don’t lay the weight of your tears on me,
Please don’t touch my feet to show respect,
I’ve been stepped upon all my life,
So try respecting the living instead,
Please don’t lay flowers on my body,
I’ve been crushed as a flower of paper,
So don’t try to instill fragrance back in me,
Please don’t lift my body on your shoulders,
All my life, I’ve been treated as an outcast,
Don’t lay the burden of your pity on my soul,
Please don’t cremate my body when I am dead,
As I’ve been burning all my life,
Give me some respite; put an end to my strife.
