Alone I stood with no one beside me,
My eyes went num, for feelings I couldn’t share,
From no-where walked a shadow towards thee,
I was surprised yet curious, so I gave him a stare,
He talked to me unlike anyone else,
For he too was hurt by people who care for themselves,
During the downs of my life, he gave a helping hand,
He backed my decisions and enabled me to take firm stand,
It took me time for I couldn’t understand,
Whether it was bond or just eyes full of sand,
It didn’t take me long, I soon realized,
It was friendship so pure so unblemished,
Life then changed and he left me when I needed him,
Now my heart cries and tears have filled to the brim,
I couldn’t forget him so only if a message I could send,
I search for him in every person,
For he was my true friend.
