You turned your back on me, when my life was going nowhere;

You deserted to me when I needed you most,

As if I was no one, my life meant nothing,

You left me alone and forgot the promises we made,

You thought I would succumb and surrender eventually,

Because you were the Motivation, the inspiration that I always sought,

But I gave a fight and stared the world right in the eyes,

And I snatched victory from the jaws of defeat,

And now you return and try to regain the position you once had,

But now you’re welcome no more in my life,

For I have learned how to live, how to cherish every moment of my life,

I have learned to give love and ask nothing in return,

So even if Adversity return’s

I will survive, yes I will survive.
